Items in kitchen cabinets are always getting moved around, shifted and somehow even end up in a messy heap. People seem to think that there is no way to keep this from happening and believe it is because their cabinets are too small. However, if you follow these tips, you may realize that you have much more room than you ever imagined.
- Utilizing stackable shelves inside a cabinet means that a person can fit more items on a regular shelf. Instead of a stack of dinner plates taking up the entire space, people may find that they can fit the dinner plates, bowls and cups into the same space.
- Baking sheets and cutting boards take up a lot of space when they are laying flat and they never fit together well. We suggest using a filing rack and storing these items upright inside the cabinet.
- Use a bin or two to keep all of those individual spice packets, granola bars and other small items together. They can be found without emptying out the entire cabinet and it looks nicer too!
- Use a lazy susan to store spices and other small containers. Spin the rack to find a favorite spice when cooking instead of picking up each container individually.
- Slide out shelves are a perfect way to store items like pots and pans neatly. Since the shelves pull out, no one will have an excuse as to why the cabinet looks like a tornado went through it.
- Add dividers to your silverware drawer and other drawers. This will keep the items contained to their own area. This works perfectly for a junk drawer too. If you have small items, place them in small containers or even an ice cube tray.
- Take control of the Tupperware cabinet before everything falls out on the ground. Nestle same size containers together and then stack them largest to smallest. Keep the lids organized in a bin and place them smallest to largest.
- Multiple boxes of cereal and bags of chips can become a jumble in any pantry. We recommend placing the items in clear containers. They are easy to see through and they fit nicely next to each other in a row.
- Use a crock or old pitcher and store all of the cooking utensils next to the stove. Everything will be within reach and can be found easily without having to rummage through a drawer.
- Hang an over the door rack to hold plastic wrap, foil, parchment paper and storage bags. It won’t take up a lot of space and everything will be easy to grab.
